The Start by iHealth BPw blood pressure monitor is designed for left hand wrists. However, it is possible to take measurements on the right wrist as long as you return the device as shown in the photos below to ensure a higher measurement accuracy.
The blood pressure monitor is equipped with a single size cuff. It fits any wrist with a circumference ranging from 14 to 19.5 cm.
Blood pressure can be affected by the position of the device and your physiological state. It is very important that you keep your wrist at heart level throughout the measurement.
- Sit comfortably in front of a table or desk, legs uncrossed, feet flat on the floor.
- Place your hand, palm up, in front of you and wrap the cuff around the wrist, 1 to 2 cm below the wrist fold.
- Do not overtighten the cuff. Simply close the Velcro so that the monitor is properly maintained. Tightening will be done automatically during inflation.
- Stay still during the entire measurement (do not move the body, the hand or the fingers or the blood pressure monitor).
- It is advisable to place the blood pressure monitor under your arm to support it and keep it at an optimal height throughout the measurement (at heart level).
